Welcome to the Beginner Intervals Series. These workouts use intervals of 30 seconds of work with 10 seconds of rest to increase your heart rate and let it recover just enough to keep you in the fat burning zone. This is the perfect series for those who are new to interval training as there are plenty of easier modifications shown and the work intervals are short.

THE WORKOUTS ARE:

Cardio Sculpt (21 mins): You will see lots of fun squat, kick, punch and jump combinations to get your heart rate up and your muscles burning. You will use light dumbbells to engage your arms at the same time and will also see some mat exercises in order to sculpt your warm muscles.

Compound Moves (20 mins): In this workout there are lots of fun squat, lunge and kick combinations that engage your entire body. You will use light dumbbells to work your arms and shoulders and will finish with some mat exercises in order to sculpt your butt and abs.

Old School (20 mins): You will see all your favourite old school aerobics moves as well as some new combinations. This routine is pure cardio with lots of low impact, high intensity moves that will get your heart rate up and the sweat flowing!

Ramp it Up (21 mins): Take your beginner workout to the next level with slightly more complex combinations. You will ramp up each routine by adding on variations and balance challenges. This one will train your mind and your muscles!

What is Barlates Body Blitz: Barlates is a fusion style workout that borrows from pilates, barre, ballet, yoga and more traditional cardio and toning. The idea was to create a workout, which flows seamlessly from one move into the next using the principles of isotension and high repetitions to build long, lean muscles. By using a lighter weight with high repetitions the exercises are designed to target all of those underused smaller muscle groups resulting in a defined, lengthened dancer's physique. This is a real girls workout in the sense that it is fun and feminine, but don't get me wrong it is still super intense with a big burn factor! The workouts are designed to be mixed and matched with an array of 20-30 minute upper body, lower body, abdominal and total body workouts that can be strung together for a longer session or done individually if you are short on time. These workouts will hit all those trouble spots and best of all you don't even need to wear shoes to do them!
