Workout DVDs for Post Pregnancy – shape up after baby?

If you have recently had a baby and just can't get out of the house to go to the gym then another great alternative is to use workout dvds.

I know most people, especially guys, probably think of Jane Fonda in pink leotards and leg warmers, but nowadays there heaps of male instructed workout dvds that are actually pretty tough. I have some friends who have 3 children, and hence no time for the gym, so they started doing Billy Blanks Tae Bo dvds together. They don't require a lot of space and you can get some shorter ones which you could do when the baby is asleep. That way you don't waste time driving to and from the gym either.

There are many other types of fitness dvds too if boot camp style workouts aren't really your style. For the ladies Pilates DVDs might be a good idea, considering that having a baby would have caused some damage to the abdominal muscles. And Pilates is great for men too. In fact there are some Pilates for Men dvds out there that are specifically designed to meet your specific needs. 

So no more excuses. Grab a few dvds and see how you go. If you don't like it, well you have at least tried it and can cross it off your list. But to tell you the truth, there's nothing not to like about having your own personal trainer in the comfort of your home!
